Music Monday 03.16 Quaran-ting Chunes

I have time today and I guess Corona did too.

Thank the pandemic for today’s long-procrastinated Music Monday. I missed you guys. Truthfully I wasn’t feeling very inspired and I’m learning to not force myself to do things I’m passionate about when I’m not in the mood. Only quality content for you.

Now since we’re so conveniently on lockdown …

Welcome to Quaran-ting Chunes!

This week’s playlist is a mixture of my favorite Afro-Beat and Kompa chunes. I especially think these music genres take you to another world. Seems like an escape is essential in our time of need.

Melvitto & Gabzy

I recently discovered their music and I promise I will play their album out all summer. Windows down AND Blasting. I’m a little upset no one put me on earlier.

Ya Levis

I’m not sure if Ya Levis claims to be a Kompa artist but, Kompa definitely influences his music. There is even a Kompa style dance break in the song ‘Penzi.’ Kompa if you didn’t know is the genre of music in Haiti, my country. ;-) And I have been dying to expose caribbean music lovers to the BEST music genre in the caribbean!

Enjoy quaran-ting chunes and stay safe.

If you made it this far you’ve unlocked my secret soundcloud playlist. Enjoy ;-) See y’all next Monday. Any recommendations comment below.
